Treasure by the Sea

As I catch the shimmers of sunlight dancing on the water from the front patio I understand why the owner often refers to this art deco home as her “Treasure by the Sea”.

Built circa 1973 and still maintaining a modern look, this home would so easily lend itself to additions that would blend seamlessly with its modern lines. The home sits proudly on a ¼ acre block with uninterrupted views of the Coral Sea.

The lower level of the home includes:

– a spacious informal living area featuring beautiful hardwood polished floors
– tiled kitchen adjoining the covered ocean-facing patio
– a good sized bedroom
– newly refurbished shower and toilet

The top level offers:

– a large master bedroom approximately 8.4 m x 5.3 m
– ensuite
– office / computer room or reading nook

Other features include:

– 7 x 6 metre fully insulated shed with power & water
– Good side access to the rear with plenty of room for a boat or van
– Render to the outside of the building

Completely refurbished 2014

– completely re-wired throughout
– all new plumbing, all pipes replaced, new toilets, septic tank upgraded
– painted inside and out and roof painted
– rear of house re-modelled plus new kitchen
– new modern windows and doors — stacker doors to patio

The owner would ideally like to rent back for a period of time.

If you have been thinking of a peaceful life in a seaside village, this lovely home may just be that opportunity you have been looking for. So much possibility and potential … so perfectly positioned by the sea …

My real estate career began as a naive Dalby boy in Cairns in 1989 working for PRD Realty and a larger than life Principal. I learnt much in my four years in Cairns but one truth continues to resonate with me today, that real estate is a cyclical force when it’s up its up and when its down hard times follow. To experience 18% interest rates and an airline strike was the ultimate of a depressed market where I discovered things don’t always keep going up, somewhere a correction or balance must be found. From 1992 – 1996 we moved back to my old stomping ground, Toowoomba, again selling real estate where I cut my teeth in another hard environment. Before re-entering the Industry here on the Coral Coast, my wife and I managed a private island / cattle property “Marble Island” off the QLD coast between Rockhampton and Mackay for five years. During this experience I was able to develop my own management skills, resourcefulness and ability to adapt to a changing environment. A truly unique time of my life that not only drew me back to my rural roots but prepared me for a potential reprise into the real estate industry. Yet the call of beautiful Bargara and the Coral Coast drew us back to the mainland in 2003, a place which would soon become a home for our two children. We established a successful maintenance / landscaping business, until somebody tried to re-claim his rugby prestige and snapped his Achilles. One’s youthful thoughts are sometimes best left in the past. This lead me back into real estate in May of 2007 selling on the Coral Coast where my knowledge base over the past nine and a half years has grown exponentially. I have always had a strong passion for real estate from the stages of development through to marketing. The other great thing about our industry are the diverse range of people you meet. Listening and embracing people’s life stories never ceases to amaze me, whether it be humbling or motivational, each remains intriguing and unique as the last. Having witnessed the cyclic patterns of real estate being push and pulled by regional Australian economic pressures over a seventeen-year career is an invaluable experience which has allowed me to share my knowledge and expertise with my clients. Myself and Emma Bauer are now the new owners of Coastline Realty Pty Ltd and are excited to continue the ethos of integrity, knowledge and service which will remain etched into the foundation of this company by its founding owner Bob Tame. Bob has been a wonderful mentor to me over the past six and a half years and I greatly respect the imparting of his knowledge of the industry here on the Coral Coast to myself and Emma. Both Emma and I look forward to continue carrying this same standard of principle and wisdom as we undertake this new career venture.
